My 2007 Christmas Ornaments

Posted by uud on 10:38 PM
I LOVE ornaments. Here's to Christmas, my favorite holiday!!
I also have an addiction to glass as well. Some of my favorite ornaments
and my newest ornament additions to the collection this year.

Glittering Pine Cones, Faux moss green rocks, and
some of my vintage ornament collection.

Here's an up close shot of some of my favorite vintage
ornaments. I really like the silver walnut. The mushroom
is fun and whimsical.

Here are the newest ornaments I bought this year.

For good measure, I like this angle. Although it's probably
best to choose a good color scheme and stick with it, I can't
seem to get away from color and shiny objects! Something
I seem to have never outgrown. I took a liking to the ship
in a bottle. But the pickle really tickled me :)

Chinese knick-knacks

I really love outdoor living spaces and thought this was a nice
example of a small deck space done up in a simple, yet feminine
look with an Asian twist. And of course, pastels!

Love the chinoise fabrics - epsecially the pink.

Love the wall art hung in way to give privacy.

My favorite here is the large pink and
white urn towards the back.

Vintage and every day chinese
knick knacks and accessories.

I am slowly but surely trying to work my way towards reaching my dream
of starting what I consider to be a lifestyle store. A little bit of everything
from jewelry to home decor. I've been working with a graphic artist to
create a logo and this is the result. I posted it at the website I am planning
to develop {www.shopalkemie.com}. I welcome your opinions and
comments about the logo!

The Fabulosity of Pink...

Pink is such a fun and girly color. So let's celebrate the "fabulosity" of pink.

Love these gilded chairs with pink velvet upholstery.

Modern splash of color on a decorative mirror.

This is such a pretty poof. It looks so soft and luxurious,
just makes me want to jump on it.

Psychodelic mushroom like stools ^_^

Such a pretty cake.

And of course, diamonds are a girl's best friend.
Why not in Pink?

The Modern Face of Faberge - Part II

Posted by uud on 6:37 PM
So what happened to the original Faberge? After years of renowned fame and official goldsmith to the Russian court, Faberge was sold to its employees amidst the October revolution in 1917. Two of his sons started the successor Faberge Co. and it was sold to Unilever in 1989. Faberge is now owned by a russian diamond company as of 2007. How appropriate. The jewelry license was given to Victor Mayer who owns it to this day. Victor Mayer is a German jeweler.

Faberge - Victor Mayer now designs and
makes all Faberge jewelry.

Russian American Company - This company
has a limited offering of Faberge items.

A La Vieille Russie - New York based antiques
company who also deals in original Faberge pieces.

Masterpiece Jewels - Has a broad range and wonderful
selection of modern Faberge jewelry and pieces.
A modern Faberge Ad.

Modern Faberge Bottle stoppers.
Faberge Pendant. Faberge Perfume Bottle.

Colorful Faberge Crystal ware.
A fun Faberge egg shaped beer stein. Never thought I would see a beer stein
in the shape of an egg. Right: Fashionable Black crystal ware.

This dog is so cute and I have always loved the color
and rich hues of Malachite.

Malachite frame in a traditional Russian style.

Parisian Flair

The Parisians definitely have their own flair and taste.
Here are some shops I thought were particularly fun.

No one does lingerie and perfume like the French.
